This sermon is the introductory sermon to the series Hard Questions, Real Answers. There are many important questions that we can ask in life, but there is one question that is more important than all the others. When we correctly answer The Most Important Question, then we discover a life full of purpose, meaning, and significance. A life that no longer puts me at the center, but a life that has Jesus Christ at the center. The text is Matthew 16:13-17.
This is the take away from the sermon: The most important question we can answer in life is “Who is Jesus?”
If we limit Jesus to being a good teacher, a religious guru, or a political revolutionary, then we have missed Jesus. To accept what the Bible says about Jesus means that we must see Jesus as the Messiah, come to establish God’s Kingdom, to rescue people from sin, and to open up the way to God.
